The Ohio Newspapers Foundation has chosen recipients for this year’s scholarships.
Kristina Hauptman of Ohio University, Alison Matas of Marietta College and Kristina Stavale of Kent State University have each been awarded $1,500 University Journalism Scholarship.
Hauptman, originally from Vernon Hills, Ill., is a reporter for OU’s student newspaper, The Post.

The Ohio Circulation Managers Association is calling for entries to its Annual Promotional Display Competition.
Newspapers will compete in six categories: carrier promotion, carrier recognition, direct/targeted marketing, single copy merchandising, subscription retention and Newspapers In Education.
First- and second-place winners will be recognized at this year’s OCMA Fall Conference, scheduled Oct. 4-6 in Toledo.
