‘Multimedia Selling Skills’ to kick off training schedule

ONA’s 2010 Newspaper Staff Training Calendar will start on Wednesday, March 17, with an all-day session titled “Enhancing Your Multimedia Selling Skills.” The session will be held at the Ohio University Pickerington Center on the eastside of Columbus.
Instructed by consultant Chuck Nau, this specially-designed training session is intended to help sales reps and ad directors adapt to the skills and knowledge that are necessary for online ad sales. Portions of the session will also be devoted to helping advertisers with strategies that combine online with print. Nau will also provide tips on motivating reluctant advertisers to restore or increase their ad spending amidst recessionary conditions.
The spring portion of the ONA Training Calendar will continue with three webinars: “Classified Ad Sales Strategies” on April 7 with Peter Zollman, The AIM Group; an April 21 session on “Growing Your Newspaper Web site Audience;” and an April 28 session on “Emerging Audience Strategies,” with Barbara Cohen, Kannon Consulting, who will focus on new print delivery models as well as wireless and mobile delivery.
Concluding the spring schedule will be a May 19 computer lab session on “Adobe Flash” scheduled for Kent State University. Registration for the March 17 session is now open. Registration for the others will be announced in the next few weeks.
In a new offering this year, ONA is partnering with the Online Media Campus of the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association. This means a series of additional webinars on various topics will be promoted and available to ONA members throughout the year.
