As part of the upcoming 2013 ONA Annual Convention, a silent auction will be held to raise money for the Ohio Newspapers Foundation.  The ONA is asking member newspapers to donate items for the auction. All money raised will benefit Foundation activities such as training, scholarships, internships and Newspapers in Education projects.

Among the donations your newspaper might make are signed sports and political memorabilia, framed photos and paintings, books, vacation getaways, and much more. ONA’s Executive Director Dennis Hetzel has already agreed to donate a one-week stay at his home in Holden Beach, North Carolina, while an ONA member newspaper is donating a weekend getaway at an upscale resort. We’re hoping to attract donations at all possible price points, so please send in both big and small pledges. And remember, all donations are tax deductible.

To donate an item to the silent auction, please email your pledge to ONA’s Manager of Administrative Services, Sue Bazzoli, at sbazzoli@ohionews.org.  Be sure to include a description of the item and its estimated value. For questions, please contact Sue at 614-486-6677, ext. 1018.
