Barbara Rodriguez, an Associated Press editorial assistant at the regional desk in Chicago and a former newsperson in Columbus, Ohio, has joined the staff in Des Moines, Iowa.
Rodriguez joined the AP in Raleigh, N.C., in 2008 as an editorial assistant after graduating from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She moved to Chicago as an editorial assistant at the regional desk two years later, and spent most of last year working as a reporter in Madison, Wis., and Columbus.
