Civitas Media LLC said it will roll out CMS from Saxotech Inc. to anchor digital publishing operations across its more than 90 properties.

“We were looking for a solution which offered flexibility to us in product development while automating the processes to the greatest extent possible,” said Michael Bush, Civitas’ CEO, in a statement.

Civitas, formed last fall, has 35 daily papers and 63 weeklies across 12 states in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and South. The publisher encompasses papers formerly owned by Heartland Publications, Impressions Media and Ohio Community Media and includes the Times Leader in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., The Telegraph in Alton, Ill., The Journal-Courier in Jacksonville, Ill., The Sedalia (Mo.) Democrat and The Lima (Ohio) News.
