From the Ohio Association of Broadcasters
Ohio has one of the nation’s most well-organized AMBER Alert programs, and the state also offers Endangered Missing Child, Endangered Missing Adult and Blue Alerts. Radio and television stations play a critical role in disseminating these alerts and allowing law enforcement to enlist the public’s help in finding abducted or missing individuals.
To help the media understand these various alert programs, the Ohio Association of Broadcasters is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. to review of the criteria for the different alerts and how they are distributed. It will also include a discussion about the media’s role in the alerts.
The OAB welcomes members of the Ohio Newspaper Association (ONA) to participate in this webinar. Although this session is free for both OAB and ONA members, registration is required. Contact the OAB’s Katie Lovell at firstname.lastname@example.org or 614.228.4052 for questions or more information.
