From a release by the Columbus Dispatch
As an incentive for delivery contractors to deliver perfect service to subscribers — and to attract future members of its delivery force — The Columbus Dispatch recently held a five-month contest that ended with the winner driving away a new car.
Each week of perfect service earned an independent contractor an entry into the “Drive to Perfection” contest. All told, there were about 1,600 entries, which were ultimately whittled down to the “magnificent seven” perfect-service finalists.
Those finalists were honored at an Oct. 14 awards banquet and given a key. On just the second key, independent contractor Keith Waits unlocked the door and became the winner of a new Ford C-MAX hybrid.
The six runners-up won cash prizes ranging from $100 to $600. The Dispatch plans to conduct another, similar contest in early 2014.
