The Ohio Supreme Court may get to rule on whether the Strongsville City Schools must reveal the names of substitute teachers hired during the March-April teachers’ strike.
The schools will appeal an Aug. 21 order by the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals to release the names.
“The district will be filing an appeal with the Ohio Supreme Court,” schools Treasurer Deborah Herrmann said in an email to cleveland.com. Herrmann said the appeal should arrive in Columbus “within the next few days.”
Superintendent John Krupinski; David Frazee, Board of Education president; and Christian Williams, an attorney for the school district, did not return calls.
Also not returning calls was David Quolke, president of Cleveland Teachers’ Union Local 279. It was Quolke who first requested the names and took the case to the appeals court once the schools refused to reveal them.
