From the Akron Beacon Journal

Instructors in the Kent State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication have written university leadership expressing dissatisfaction with the secrecy surrounding the search for a new president.

The Beacon Journal has reported over the last several weeks that the university signed a contract with a private search firm that allowed the private firm to determine which records would be public. In addition, the newspaper reported that some records were shredded.

Meanwhile, the University of Akron and Youngstown State University, which are conducting searches for president, have been transparent about the process.
