Dix Communications is recruiting a Vice President of Audience to lead efforts in executing our strategy to grow total audience and maximize both print and digital subscription revenue.

Dix Communications’ portfolio of products and brands cover two states, Ohio and Kentucky. Our products include daily, weekly and niche products, as well thriving websites servicing both the desktop and mobile reader. Our strategy is to provide relevant, engaging content across each of our print and digital platforms in the communities we serve. Additionally, we leverage social media, SEO, news aggregation and community-generated content to drive audience. We seek a proven individual to lead our content strategy into a successful total audience growth program.

Job details:
• P & L accountability for revenue and expenses associated to audience and subscriptions.
• Direct oversight and report for our seven Circulation Directors.
• Directly responsible for paid circulation volumes across all channels.
• Directly responsible to implementing growth initiatives, goals and measuring results of each individual market.
• Oversee necessary marketing through our in-house products and single copy venues.
• Develop marketing programs and partnerships with retail businesses and events in the market.
• Directly responsible for ensuring quality service standards are met to meet circulation goals.
• Maximize print subscription revenue through creative, well-executed subscriber acquisition and renewal marketing initiatives.
• Directs and coordinates the circulation annual budget based on forecasted goals.
• Develop customer loyalty programs to improve retention and help grow audience.
• Maximize customer touch-points through the inbound and outbound call center partnerships.
• Provides input and feedback on editorial calendar, content, and news initiatives.
• Brings a deep understanding of consumer/reader behavior and digital analytics across each platform, including desktop, mobile, email and social media and demonstrate an ability to develop plans that drive audience growth.
• Champion efforts to leverage and maximize email marketing to drive audience and revenue.
• Help develop and execute the optimal “All-Access” subscription model to build new revenue streams and total audience growth. Strong emphasis on moving quickly, intelligently testing and adjusting plans.

We’re looking for a results-driven, creative and analytical executive that can work collaboratively with our team. The markets are competitive, and we expect to grow revenue and profit so playing to win every day is a must. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a subscription-based business, as well as experience with digital audience and analytics are required.

A successful candidate will have proven record and be knowledgeable of successful audience development initiatives, and have experience in leading and managing such efforts. Good communication, computer skills and understanding of US Postal direct mail practices and data mining are a plus.
