Our Celebrities & What’s Trending Reporter

Cincinnati.com and The Enquirer have a great opportunity for an Our Celebrities & What’s Trending Reporter.

In this role:

  • You are 100% focus on the 25-45 audience.
  • You bring stories about celebrities and personalities (athletes, media, social and digital celebs in our region) to our audience.
  • You attend all the cool events and share with photos & details.
  • You know what’s trending in and about Cincinnati and you write about it, mining social media.
  • You know if someone from outside of Cincinnati is writing about our region (Yahoo Travel or somewhere else spotlighting our city) and you explain why and share it.
  • You aggregate content from others to share (instagram, twitter, etc.).
  • You ensure we produce content that serves all strategic parts of our community -- Butler/Warren counties and Northern Kentucky as well as Cincinnati.
  • You are comfortable with voice -- you bring your unique voice to all your stories, social media, video appearances and public appearances. You are comfortable sharing some personal information that helps 25-45 year olds create a personal connection to you.
  • You engage your audience consistently throughout the week -- you build a true community and relationship around your coverage.
  • You continually initiate new techniques in your coverage to meet the interests and needs of 25-45 year olds.
  • You break news on what is important to your audience.
  • You are the person that people follow if they want to know what’s important in this area.
  • You work with your advertising partner to grow and monetize the 25-45 audience.


Pacing: Signature piece once a month. Breaking news daily. In-depth take/insight on the news, weekly. Typical hours: varies, lots of night and weekend

Knowledge and Skills Needed:

  • Ability to produce top-notch investigative and revelatory journalism.
  • Exceptional cross-platform storytelling skills.
  • Exceptional core journalism skills (reporting, producing and editing).
  • Deep understanding of and curiosity about competition for our customers' time and money.
  • Self-motivation and self-direction.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media and how to engage fan base on digital platforms.
  • Photo and video skills.
  • Effective communicator; able to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Able to multi-task and excel under intense deadline pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knows how to use time efficiently in a 24-hour news environment.
  • Works collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.
  • Must embrace peer-to-peer feedback and training.
  • Applies innovative, creative thinking to support the company’s goals.
  • Writing, spelling, grammar, AP and local style.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Command of media law and Principles of Ethical Conduct.
