Circulation District Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY: Supervise a delivery force to ensure excellent performance over home delivery service with the ultimate goal of circulation growth. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job. These duties do not specify each and every possible task, which might be performed. · Communicate and enforce policies and procedures to independent agent carrier force to ensure excellent customer service. · Supervise an independent carrier work force for home delivery. · Perform all necessary administrative functions to run a district. · Manage carrier force from appropriate distribution center. · Manage and when necessary, distribute all products within the distribution centers. · Supervise resolution of customer complaints personally or through the carriers. · Manage the draw for all independent agent/single copy sales in his/her geographic area to maximize sales. · Manage all billing statements for independent agents, including collection; documentation and submitting appropriate credit/debits. · Track appropriate service and circulation numbers. · When necessary, responsible for delivery to subscribers. · Develop opportunities to increase sales and circulation in his/her assigned district. JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS: Good organization, communication and recruitment skills. Need valid driver’s license. ABILITIES: Public relations, problem solving. Valid drivers license (0-2 points maximum); state required insurance. EDUCATION PREFERRED: College degree or equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Sales, public relations, collection background, and management experience supervising a day-to-day operation. EQUIPMENT UTILIZED: Company car, Company cell phone, PC. HOURS: (hours determined by the company) SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY: (If yes, explain) Directly supervise a carrier force made up of independent agents to meet customer expectations and enforce all company policies. CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITY: To ensure an excellent level of customer service by striving to understand what customers need and want, and to respond accordingly. DESCRIBE JOB IN TERMS OF COMPLEXITY, INITIATIVE, JUDGEMENT, ETC.: Position requires an individual that is self-motivated, well organized, and takes a common sense approach to problem solving. Ability to perform under extreme pressure and meet deadlines on a daily basis is very important. Ability to recruit, train and supervise independent agents for early morning delivery of newspapers. Physical activity may include door-to-door deliveries, unloading and distribution of product within the Distribution center. Ability to interface with the public, including customers and carriers.
