As a wholly-owned subsidiary of ONA, AdOhio sells newspaper advertising in ways that are designed to make the process as easy as possible for the advertiser. AdOhio handles display, classified and online advertising, legal notices and preprints.
The functions of the Ohio Circulation Managers Association are now under the umbrella of the Ohio Newspaper Association. In June 2013, the ONA’s board of trustees voted unanimously on a resolution to accept the remaining assets of the Ohio Circulation Managers Association, which was disbanding.
The ONA runs three award programs: the Osman C. Hooper Newspaper Contest, which recognizes the best weekly newspapers in Ohio; the Ohio Collegiate Newspaper and Website Competition, which recognizes the achievements of Ohio’s college and university newspapers, and the Maxwell Award, which recognizes outstanding individual achievement in the advancement of the newspaper profession.
The Ohio Newspapers Foundation is a non-profit organization operated for charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes with a view to achieving the highest standards of excellence and professionalism in all phases of journalism and newspaper publishing.
The Ohio Coalition for Open Government (OCOG) is a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) corporation operated for charitable and educational purposes by conducting and supporting activities to benefit those who seek compliance with public access laws.
As a public service, the ONA provides general contact and other information on its member newspapers.
The ONA, through the Ohio Newspapers Foundation, offers a number of scholarships to high school and college students.
The ONA developed the Buckeye Media Partner Program, which consists of three essential services to help members save time and money.
