GateHouse sets virtual job fair Sept. 20

From The Canton Repository

Businesses searching for workers can connect with job seekers on Sept. 20 during a virtual career fair offered by GateHouse Media Ohio.

GateHouse Media — owner of The Canton Repository, Alliance Review and Massillon Independent — believes companies can, without leaving the office, attract and engage three to five times more candidates as compared with a physical job fair. The career fair can be accessed from anywhere on any device — computer, tablet or mobile phone.

The career fair is a user-friendly website that has the look and feel of an physical event, with an entrance, lobby booths and representatives who can speak to job seekers. It can connect businesses with professionals and job seekers in an online environment.

Job seekers can “walk” through the site and visit booths, as well as review positions that companies showcase. It also gives companies a venue for sharing information about their company and its culture.

Connect to the virtual career fair at ohio.vfairs.com and register. The event is from 1 to 4 p.m.

GateHouse Media Ohio’s daily newspapers in east central Ohio are participating. Other newspapers include the The Times Reporter in Dover-New Philadelphia, The Ashland Times-Gazette, The Wooster Daily Record, The Daily Jeffersonian in Cambridge and The Record-Courier in Kent-Ravenna.
