Foundation campaign tops goal with $303,000 pledged

Foundation CampaignA highlight of the Feb. 15 ONA Annual Meeting was Ken Douthit’s announcement that the Foundation’s recent capital campaign has exceeded it’s goal of $300,000 with pledges now confirmed at $303,000! Titled “Securing Our Future,” the primary purpose of the campaign is to expand the Foundation’s scholarship program and to further underwrite the newspaper staff training calendar, a program that has grown in popularity since its inception in 2000.

Douthit further announced that the Foundation has already added three new university journalism scholarships for 2008. Those scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded this spring. Applications for all of the Foundation’s scholarships are currently being accepted, with a deadline of March 31.
