Details for multimedia writing training session announced
ONA has added two May sessions to the newspaper staff training calendar which focus on multimedia.
“Writing for Multimedia” is scheduled for May 7 at the Ohio University Pickerington Center. The session’s instructor, Rosalie Stemer, has reported and edited at the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Chicago Daily News and Kansas City Times.
Stemer will discuss writing clean, sharp stories with great leads, writing for print and online audiences, skeptical reporting and editing to avoid errors and how to quickly check numbers and charts for accuracy.

The special hands-on session will be taught by Bob Stewart, associate director of OU’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and a specialist in video journalism.
During the session, attendees will shoot and edit their own video. More details on the video session will be mailed to members next week.
