Press release from the Great Lakes Newspaper Production Conference

The 2013 Great Lakes Newspaper Production Conference, to be held March 15 & 16 in Cleveland, will again provide a unique opportunity, for production specialists to network and learn from some of the region’s most experienced professionals.

Hosted by The Plain Dealer, the conference program will cover three complete tracks of Pre-Press, Press, and Post Press and will deep dive into real-world experiences, best practices, problem solving, strategic vision and developing trends. The full schedule on Saturday also includes lunch and the casino night reception, and networking event.

The Plain Dealer has been an exceptional host of the Great Lakes Conference several times in the past, and the 2013 gathering will again be memorable. General Information

The Great Lakes Newspaper Mechanical Conference, Inc. was organized in 1945. The first general conference was held in Cleveland, Ohio the same year, with approximately 288 persons in attendance. Member newspapers are from the states of Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and the provinces of Manitoba and Ontario, Canada. The conference was incorporated in November 1960. In 1982 the name was changed to the Great Lakes/MidStates Newspaper Conference, Inc. In 1983, the board of directors voted to accept into its membership all manufacturers and suppliers that serve the newspaper industry.
