  • Explaining newsroom policies & operations
  • “Bad news & good judgment: A guide to reporting on sensitive issues in a small-town newspaper”
  • Developing meaningful and credible business coverage

Special Note: Bring a copy of any of your news policies regarding sensitive issues to share among the participants

The Sales Program with Arnold DeLuca*

“My budget is spent for the year…I don’t need to advertise…Everyone already knows about us.”  This half-day session covers how to deal with these classic objections and many more.  Each participant will receive Arnold DeLuca’s cassette tape, “Overcoming Objections,” to take home.

* Please note the special registration fees for this “double feature” session which is designed to accommodate the maximum number of small-market daily and weekly newspaper staff. The Instructors

As a consultant, Jim Pumarlo draws on his 27 years of experience working at small daily newspapers in International Falls and Red Wing, Minn.
