A bill that would establish uniform rules for withholding and taxation among all Ohio cities could make life simpler, save time and save money for ONA members, particularly for those paying outside firms to calculate taxes and do tax returns.
Click here for more information from the Ohio Chamber of Commerce on the Municipal Tax Uniformity Bill recently introduced by Rep. Cheryl Grossman, R-Grove City. The effort is to eliminate or greatly reduce the complexity of so many different municipalities taxing businesses in so many different ways.
Based on what ONA is hearing, there will be significant debate on the measure. Unfortunately, many municipalities are opposed. It is unlikely this will be decided in 2012.
