Four Dispatch photographers covering the Memorial Tournament spent four long days chasing golfers around Muirfield Village Golf Club while carrying at least 20 lbs. of camera equipment, water and sunscreen. We walked seven or so miles each day, then had to walk a few extra yards to document a two-man sudden-death playoff to determine the champion. Fortunately for our backs, it only took one hole to finalize the tournament. When Hideki Matsuyama finally shook the hand of Jack Nicklaus on Sunday, we had his victory celebration on the 18th green covered from every angle. The shot below is the one that was ultimately chosen for Monday’s newspaper.
