I had the most intense workout of my life on Wednesday. I was covered in sweat. My abs felt like they were cramping. My legs were on fire. It was grueling.
And I did it all sitting down, going 700 mph.
Along with two local teachers, I had the unusual honor of flying with the United States Navy’s elite demonstration squadron the Blue Angels, strapped into a $20-plus million Boeing F/A-18 Hornet. They’re in town for this weekend’s return of the Cleveland National Airshow.
Now, I consider myself no slouch when it comes to working out. But my pilot, U.S. Navy Lt Ryan Chamberlain, showed me the difference between my fitness level and his elite physical condition.
He put me through the wringer. And it was awesome.
