A member service provided by the Ohio Newspaper Association is an employment referral service in which resumes are kept on file to match prospective candidates with member newspapers seeking employees for vacancies. This service is a two-way resource serving both the individual and potential employer. Resumes will soon be posted online.
The Ohio Newspaper Association also includes “Help Wanted” and “Situations Wanted” listings in the Marketplace section of the Bulletin, the association’s bi-weekly newsletter. The newsletter is e-mailed to members.
Job postings are published at no charge to ONA members and can run as long as requested. Non-members pay a minimal fee of $15 per placement. Ads must be 50 words or less and received at the ONA office by 5 p.m. on Wednesday prior to Friday publication.
The types of positions typically posted include reporters, editors, photographers, ad directors/managers, circulation managers and others. Individuals in search of a job may also use Marketplace to advertise their services and qualifications. Individuals that utilize the services include:
- Applicants from inside ONA member newspapers
- Applicants from outside ONA, outside the newspaper business or outside Ohio

To utilize the resume service, submit your resume online or snail mail it to: Resume Service, Ohio Newspaper Association, 1335 Dublin Rd., Suite 216-B, Columbus, OH 43215. Resumes are posted online and kept on file for up to a year for referrals.
