Advertising Sales Manager for the Putnam County Sentinel The Delphos Herald, Inc. is seeking an energetic Sales Manager for the Putnam County Sentinel, which is located in Ottawa, Ohio. This position requires an individual who has a strong track record selling both print and digital advertising in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will maximize advertising sales potential in the Putnam County Sentinel market through the development and maintenance of quality business relationships and promotion of new/existing advertising products. Individual must be goal oriented and a team player.
The Putnam County Sentinel and its affiliated publications – the Ada Herald and the Columbus Grove Vidette – have a combined paid circulation of 6,200 as well as the total market coverage product, The Weekender, with a circulation of 5,600. The putnamcountysentinel.com website had 394,654 page views and 170,760 unique users (including mobile) from June through December 2017. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals, anticipating any challenges and working with the advertising manager to determine strategies to overcome possible shortfalls.
- Generate new leads by making cold calls, calling on inactive accounts and maintaining an awareness of new businesses opening in the area.
- Prepare needs assessments and conduct presentations to new and prospective customers, communicating market research, competition, product and pricing and any other pertinent information to help customers make informed decisions.
- Maintain existing accounts and present them with ongoing opportunities to grow their businesses.
- Commit to using prospecting sales tools such as AdSeller or Admall to research prospects and prepare professional presentations.
Requirements:
- College degree preferred – not required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years previous outside sales experience required, with specific print/media sales experience highly desirable.
- Must be computer literate, experienced with MS Office.
The Putnam County Sentinel is part of the DHI Media Group, which also owns the Delphos Herald, The Van Wert Times Bulletin and the Paulding Progress.
