West Bend News joins ONMA as newest member

The ONMA Board of Trustees has unanimously approved the West Bend News, a weekly newspaper based in Antwerp covering Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio, as ONMA’s newest member.

West Bend News was founded in 2005 by Bryce Steiner and his wife Angel along with friends Steve and Sue Knapp. The Knapps have since retired and Steiner runs the newspaper (and the print shop that publishes the newspaper) with the assistance of his wife, one of his sons, and other staff. The paper reports a combined weekly circulation of around 6,300 that includes home delivery, newsstands and mail subscribers.

“Our goal from the beginning was to get the news out to everyone,” said Steiner.

Steiner has worked in the printing and newspaper publishing business since high school. He worked for Courier Printing Company in Grabill, Indiana (who publish the East Allen Courier), for 10 years before moving to Antwerp to start West Bend Printing & Publishing, Inc., publishers of the West Bend News.

According to Steiner, the paper’s philosophy is that good news and good ads make communities better for living, working and raising a family.
